Mr. Strahahn,

In your preivious post you stated that you make "kist a little money to cover gear"; however, you stated that you would have EIGHT hunters in there that year.  Now, while I am no accountant, That seems to be an easy $60,000 plus right there.  Unless your gear upgrades include H2 Hummers, I do not think you are being quite honest there, sir.  However, it is not my point to sit here and point out the money that you did, or did not make.  Quite honestly, it is none of my bussiness how much you charge for a hunt.  The simple fact that you made money negates your "I am only in it for the fun".  I am certain that if you advertised your services for free,  you would have takers.  In fact, let us make a deal?  Should I perchance draw a Tok or Delta Sheep, you are more than welcome to accompany me on my hunt.  Please feel free to provide any and all equipment, services, skills, etc necessary free of charge.

Asking someone their plans is certianly does not alleviate you from the possibility of being "selfish".  How you made that quantum leap is beyond me.

I have killed many animals, and am young, but not that young.  I grew up in some of the best elk and deer hunting in the world, and have seen firsthad what outfitters and guides can and certianly do to an area.  I have met many people who were great people who I would certianly hunt with, great around camp, help take care of the horses, etc.  I have met more that I would not share a valley with to save my life.  Most hunting is competitive.  Guys want their animal.  Many will lend a hand wtih a downed animal, but how many will tell me where their favortie elk wallow or sheep ridge is?  Will you?

Look, my point is not to slam you.  I do read here a lot, and you do offer up some advice, and I think you are probably a pretty neat guy, but don't piss on my leg and tell me it is raining either.  You are taking people out for money, you have an agenda, and so does the other guy out there as well.  It is just the way it is.

I still think those hunters were rude, I just don't think you are as generous as you think you are.
