True enough. As I said, you have the option to take your chances and hunt the public land for free, too. You probably won't be as successful, but it's your choice.

If I utilize a guide to hunt elk for three days, the charge is less than that same guide for the same three days on the same ground hunting bears. Is that different? The guide offers a service that's value is calculated by the species. Hmmmm.

The land holder isn't charging you for an animal. Rather they're charging you for access to that animal.
