I know there are a lot of die hard Leupold guys out there and I used to be one until I went hunting with a friend that had a Nikon Monarch on his rifle and let me tell you that my Leupold VX-II was no where near as clear or light transmittable as his Nikon. I have since switched all my optics to Nikon over several years and for the money, dollar for dollar in my opinion Nikon Monarchs are much better than Leupold as for customer service I couldn't tell you because I have never had to use the customer service department ever.
