Sal, after going over and over scopes recently for myself I discovered that the Nikon Monarch 3X9X40 was the best value in quality scopes. There waterproof, have excellent light gathering capability, and I think would match your 06 just fine.  I just purchased one off Ebay for $245.00 Bushnell 4200 elites were going for right at $400 and leupolds can go as high as the price of your soul.  Good luck
