.22 for birds
Posted by OldDuckHunter on Sep 02 2005
Hi Kirk,

I hope the guys with the .22s aren't shooting the ptarmigans on the ground! They're sitting ducks, so to speak, along trails and road sides.

Naah, the character in my novel is definitely not going to shoot a duck. I simply said it was a duck-sized bird to indicate that he wasn't going to be taking aim at something small like a sparrow.

Thanks for the ideas. The more alternatives I have, the better choice I can make. After reading the replies, I'm seeing the sense of leaving off the scope.

If you'd like me to include your name in the acknowledgements section of the book, let me know your first and last name here or via e-mail at grinnellglacier@yahoo.com.
