... we've got heat sensing infrared locators on several hundred animals, which should provide a substantial mechanical assist in locating them with night vision gear and heat-seeking projectiles.  On the low-tech side, we have several squadrons of Super Cub aircraft fitted with special tracking receivers.  For gas money, they'll email you precise coordinates.

Just kidding.

Seriously though.  Maybe it would be good to just go out and hunt?  I understand the motive, but...
