That sounds exciting.  I do think it is a little funny that you had to walk 4 miles only to find the moose standing 100 yards from where you started.  It definitely makes for a great story.  "I walked for miles, over rough terrain and through swamps, to finally shoot my first moose."  "Wow, that's great, how far did you have to pack him out"?  "Oh, well...only about 100 yards.  He was standing at my ATV when I got back from the walk."  

Congrats though.  That is fabulous.  I bet the meat will be great off that moose.
