My moose jinx is over!!!

After many years of nothing, I finally bagged my first moose on Saturday morning. I've taken lots of caribou, a number of sheep, lots of deer, and even a bison over the years, but have never managed to connect on a moose. On Friday and Saturday I was in an area with a decently high concentration of moose, but because it's no secret I really didn't expect to be successful...I just wanted to be in the woods. I went on a 4 mile round trip hike from my atv across some terrible swamps, finally gave up, and then found a spike standing within 100 yards of my machine when I came back to head home. Not exactly the glorious hunt that I've had for other species, but man was I excited! In a course of 17 days I've helped clean (not all mine) 1 sheep, 2 caribou, and 1 moose. Not a bad start to the season.
