Cordova from Valdez?

I read the DON'T GO TO GREEN ISLAND (in a small Zodiac) thread with great interest. Always good to know where NOT to go. So how about going to Cordova from Valdez in Sept/October? I will be in a 21' RHIB. Other than "listen to the weather every hour", any words of wisdom? Thanks. j
