Ed: I'd like to see it when you fire your shotgun sideways while in a kayak; how many times do you figure you'll roll? (Kidding, sort of???). As for the bear thrashing, I've had a couple of sows do that with cubs around. One chased us 100 yards down the river, popping her teeth, huffing, and thrashing about. Whatever her intention, it sure gave me the message to just keep on canoeing along! PS: We had a 17' canoe and my friend shot a blackie off to the side. We wiggled quite a bit, but did not tip real far. Have fun. j
