bad hunting experience in the fairbanks area?

alright, so, i've narrowed my job search down to this....the fairbanks area..i'm up there from june 12-18..i've rented a 4x4 truck and a room at a hostile for $20 a night...i'm gonna look at some of the villages around fairbanks, etc...i can hack one year anywhere....i love to explore....so, i'll be happy with just about anything for the first year...

any suggestions on nearby villages that have good hunting around fairbanks?....a

and i will look for a 4x4....it's sounding like i'm gonna need it..how far will  chains get me on a ford f-150 2 wheel drive?

thanks,
