Bear baiting ??
Posted by pnybowhunter on May 28 2005
Just wondering if anyone has ever baited up the Goodpaster river?  I will just say I am up a long ways.  I have had the bait out three weeks now and nothing.  I have put out 100 lbs of dog food, donutes, several gallons of syrup, powdered jello, marshmellows, gummy bears, 10 gallons of fryer grease, 5 gallons of bacon grease and a scent rag of pure vanilla extract and still nothing.  When I asked fish and game about this area before the season they told me it would be a great place to bait because there is no pressure and high density of bears.  I also have a buddy that has a cabin up there and said they see bears all the time during moose season.  Anyone have any inputs?
