transporting

As long as you start in the US and end in the US and your vehicle never enters Canada you should be fine.  If you decide to drive somewhere else and have to go through canada then you will have to worry about customs.  It is not that big of a deal to transport weapons through, more a pain in the ass than anything.  If you have them, with my experience they will search the vehicle while they go through and run the seriel number, and measure the barrel length.  Just a pain in the ass and an extra 50 bucks.  Pistols are a no go though.  DO NOT try and bring one in.
