Caribou country is typically flat with little cover. Long distance shots are the norm, so a rifle will be better suited to caribou, as well as moose and bear hunting. If you want to take the three species you listed there, I'd recommend at least a 30-06, but most would probably say a .300 or bigger. For caribou and sheep I like flat shooting. For bears and moose, knock-down power. Your 3x9 scope will be fine, though you may end up wanting a spotting scope as well.
