That's exactly what I'm doing, and it works flawlessly (see my other post on this).  Perhaps this might be an issue with OS9 and a slower machine?  I'm running OS9, OSX, Windows 95, 98 and XP Pro on the same Mac (a Powerbook G4 with I think a 1.5 GHZ processor).  The program runs just like it would run on a PC, with no lag whatsoever.
