thanks for your input guys.  My spring brown bear hunt starts on April 18th.  I purchased some of Larry's equipment from both Larry and Ralph (thermarest, sleeping bag..etc) to be used on my hunt.  Both great guys and very knowledgable.  I am hunting GMU 16 with Wild Alaskan Guides.  Not known for 11 foot bears but I am very confident in my outfitter.  He has shot me straight since I booked with him 4 years ago and his references (both successful and unsuccessful) checked out well.  My gun is dialed in and I am in great shape.  I can't wait to get out of the office and out of Michigan and get behind my binos in Alaska.  Hopefully I will at least see a 9 footer.
