Caribou
Posted by Andrew on Mar 29 2005
I flew with Coyote Air out of Coldfoot a couple years back.  He has a Beaver with tires and we landed on a nice gravel bar.  We took 3 nice bulls and had a great trip.  Fishing was excellent.  Maybe get someone to fly you into Umiat and camp on one of the old oil pads there and hunt the hills around that area.  There are plenty of caribou there in Aug.  A couple of my friends have worked up there and shot caribou.  One right on the landing strip.  Good luck.
