Typically we don't start hunting until the first part of May.. it always depends on how much snow fall we get.. with bigger boars comming out first the earlist I would plan a trip would be May 1st, but that would be early on a "normal" year. I arrowed a nice boar on May 20th last year, it had a good skull size of 19 11/16th but was only little over 6'3", super thick hide and no rubs. This year seems about average for snow pack... so unless we get lots of rain and warm weather I don't think many bears will be out until mid May..... really looking forward to some time in the SE and a chance at some big guys!.
