I have a Just One Pack
Posted by bizymocha on Mar 26 2005
IFLY,
I bought a Just One this mast fall for a New Mexico elk hunt. I found the concept along with stitching, zippers, pockets, straps and padded hip pad to be first rate. I liked the concept of being able to expand the back based on the load you need at the time. It was nice in that you could put clothes in the pack and expand it as the day warmed. I really like the rifle sheath idea. I used a Kimber Montana and it slid in easily and allowed for hands free climbing. Ever since my sheep hunt in the Chugach, I use a walking stick. The small herd of elk I was stalking actually feed quicker to me that I figured. When they appeared over the hill, we were both out in the open. I slid the rifle out of its scabbard over my head and undid the belt buckle. I used the pack as a makeshift rest. I did take a big cow at 281 yards with my 300WSM.
Anyway, I am extrememly pleased with the pack. I got all the options with it. The only thing to remember is that it doesn't have the overall high capacity as the Barneys Chalet pack or one of the Kifaru models, but it is close. Hope this helps!
