Antler stain...
Posted by Shoot2Kill on Jan 26 2005
I stained a few moose racks this past fall for friends using Provincial 211 wood stain.  It's about as accurate as you can get color wise using wood stain.  You can go over it with a darker stain to make a few dark highlights in certain areas, just don't over do it.  If you just stain them with the 211 they will look great.  Some of the antler stains on the market aren't all they're cracked up to be.  The antler stain by Knoblochs goes on great and looks nice, but if it gets wet for some reason the stain runs.  I stained a moose shed from last year with it and just recently washed it off.  It looked nice, but I want a stain that isn't going to run and leave streaks on my antlers if for some odd reason it were to get wet.

No offense Lucky, but I personally wouldn't completely coat a set of antlers with polyurathane.  You can LIGHTLY spray them to get a few highlights, but actually coating the antler with it makes them look completely unnatural.
