Trophy skwirll hunt
Posted by 379 Peterbilt on Dec 10 2004
The cat is out of the bag on this throphy area (Koat-zee-bou) as skwirll hunters have seen the resource depleted over the last 10 or so years. Keep in mind that in upcoming years, this area will become draw, as ADF&G will be trying to keep restore bull/cow ratios. It will be in this years winter supplement, then moved to spring draw. Alaska residents will still be able to harvest with a registration permit, however, trophy value will be destroyed, as this is to be considered a "meat hunt"

On weapons, don't go under gunned!! Weapons choice should be for at least a .177 cal. pellet gun with loads in the 250fps range. A single shot BB gun would be a good backup!

Don't forget, you will also need to fill out your harvest report and return to fish & game within 15 days after the close of season.

Hope this helps
