You can't calculate when the fish will surge up...too many variables.  Sure tide is one of them, but the weather really has a lot to do with it. For example, a northerly wind will slow the fish down headed up the inlet, while a southerly wind will move them up the inlet quicker.
  If you're looking for a good week to hit the Kenai for kings and reds, just look for the third week in July.  Russian red timing will be a bit different, but for the lower river, the third week in July will almost always put you well into decent numbers of kings and reds.
