The Tannana holds big fish. All you need to do is find a small clear water tributary, with a back slough and you will find them. An excellent place is on the way into Northway, as the sloughs are along the road and cross it. You can also put in a small boat and/or walk to some good spots from Northway. The largest pike I personally seen there was taken by a local. He uses Pixee spoons, with the plastic egg pattern removed and retrieves it quickly across the surface. Usually takes multiple cast in the same location to entice big fish to leave their lair. Big pike are territorial and remain in one place, while small ones are always moving, relocating and migrating. My theory is, that is the reason I have only caught small ones in moving water.
