Mustad hooks and rubber bands
Posted by bkmail on Mar 27 2006
Mustad hooks, Ultra point, are woth the money as they are the toughest and sharpest due to the way they are made. (Far superior to Gammy's!) Never had a problem tuning them and they come pre-bent so the point is offset already, extremly sharp, so be careful. Also, when wrapping sardines you will find it much easier and cheaper to secure them with the little tiny colored rubber bands avaliable at any office supply store. This makes swapping out fresh bait a 10 second deal rather than having to cut all the old line off and sitting in the boat re-wrapping the new bait, tying knots and trimming, etc... Simply lay the bait on the bottom of the kwikfish and secure it with the rubber bands, done!
