SBW,
I am a steelhead fisherman from Oregon, and I found that to be a little dissapointing about this area. I just went down to Oregon and caught my limit of two last week while on vacation. There is some steelhead fishing that is catch and release at the Anchor river in the fall. Also I have seen people land them on the Kasilof in May but they didn't look so good, I'm not sure of the timing in that river. There is awesome steelhead fishing if you travel to SW AK though that I have only read about. So sorry, I have looked into this a bunch and found the same thing, not much.
