Whittier
Posted by Wichita on Feb 27 2006
You are in for a real treat fishing Whittier out of July.  You can rent boats in Whittier, last time I checked a good motor boat was about $525 a day. There are cheaper ones but it depends how far you want to go.  I don't know what kind of 16 footer you have, but don't run out too far with a flat-bottom boat.  Be prepared for rain.

There is a great book called CRUISING PRINCE WILLIAM SOUND (or something like that) sprial bound book - get it and it will give you a lot of good info on all the anchorages. There are forest service cabins you can rent for about 25 bucks a night, great places to stay. I know there is a nice one down Cochrane Bay.

If you have a boat that can get you there, Main Bay is hot for Silvers that time of year.
