Needle size for deflation

I have obtained #10 Canula from a Vet ( animal doc) before. It is a big, nasty needle. Throw away the plunger and just keep the needle part. Soak it in a mild bealch and fresh water solution after each days use. Don't poke yourself, it hurts and I have "vented) my hand a couple of times in the heat of the moment.
