kenai???
Posted by alaskanfishguides on Feb 25 2006
You are correct that the Kenai River can be crowded.  Indeed, there are several McDonalds around.  However, the Kenai Peninsula is the size of Rhode Island with over 65% of the land in federal hands as either a National Wildlife refuge or a National Forest.

The Kenai river itself is very crowded in July, and that in the mornings and early afternoons.  Most guides are off the river by 3pm and cannot fish on Sundays and Mondays.

So, can you find the wild Alaska that you seek on the Kenai Peninsula?  Absolutely.  Can you fish the Kenai without being over run with crowds?  Again, absolutely.
