Ryan,  there are several good rivers in SW, but your overall airfare costs might be much higher than if you go into FAI and can then drive north to a float launch area. pretty much everything in SW is by air access, usually from D'ham.
check the bookstore feature, upper left part of this page, for a few good books on float trips.  I took one in Wood-Tikchik State park a few years ago, it was pretty wonderful. First camping night was a challenge though. The goose pilot seemed to be watertaxiing around quite a while looking for a gravel bar, when it became apparent the "gravel bar" they usually let guys out to camp on was about 3 ft under water. We squeezed our tent onto a beach about 6 feet wide, woke up to a cow moose within 20 ft of our tent next a.m.   saw a wolverine (our first) and a good 50 inch bull moose later.    enjoy!
