Are you independantly wealthy?
Posted by Paul H on Feb 21 2006
Not meant as a snide comment, but if you need employment, that is the #1 concern, and then you can work out where you will fish.  Based on that, the Anchorage and Mat/Su areas have the best employment options, and are close to excellent fishing.  Once you are up here, it is much easier to find employment in areas that will allow you world class fishing right out your back door.

The ideal employment for the fishing/hunting life, though not for social or family life is working a 2 week on, 2 week off oil field job.  You make good money so can afford to live anywhere in the state, and have the time off to enjoy it.
