I haven't fished in California, but the only creeks that come to mind are Quartz Creek and the Swanson River.  Possibly also Ptarmigan Creek.  All should be good for rainbows/dollies.  None are very large.

Deep Creek and the Anchor River may fit the bill, however both are very prone to run off and turbidity.
