pinks are here every year
Posted by Kid on Jan 30 2006
Sept. 12, 2005 Anchorage paper had a story about millions of unharvested pinks in PWS in 2005, due largely to enhanced fishery projects that release hatchery fish. Even or odd years might have a statistical difference in some places (in some places they say the odd years are more abundant)but if you are planning a trip here to fish it would be a mistake to wait for a "big run" year for pinks.  If you come in mid-summer you will catch so many pinks you will not notice if it was a supposedly good year or a bad one.   My .02   Kid, Kodiak, AK
