[ Return to Contents | Post a Reply | Post a new message ] Alaska Posted by Barron on Jan 30 2006 The 4000 is fine. The 2000 is a bit small as I use the 3000. They do still exist. I use a double Handle 9ft 10-12 weight. 12 for kings. There is a fellow named Paul Eiler, Eilers rod shop in Michigan. 231-861-0086. He has made me about 30 rods over the years. He now sells a rod called the "Varvil Special" Nothing special about it other than there bullet proof and light enough with enough action to feel the take but heavy in the bottom to stick a 5olber. He warrantys them against anything and I have taken him up on it over the years as clients have, well you can imagine. We stumbled onto the double handle concept about 10 years ago. Before that you never and I mean never saw it up here. It aids in leverage on a big fish. IM6 blank with the double handle, oversize reel seat to accomadate the moocher, and a oversize fighting butt. (My wife has one of those too)Jk Honey... Previous: Thanks Capt_Robert Jan 30 2006 Next: Risky Business Coach! BlueMoose Jan 31 2006 Message Thread:
