[ Return to Contents | Post a Reply | Post a new message ] pinks Posted by BrownBear on Jan 29 2006 Do your best to find the pinks while they are still silvery bright in saltwater, rather than dark and humped up in a river. Your 5-weight will turn them into sincere gamefish with lots of power, even showing you your backing now and then. They're also topnotch on the table right out of the ocean. Think of them more like the best trout you ever ate, because the meat isn't as firm or colorful as other salmon. Averaging over 3 pounds each and sometimes topping 10, they'll make you wonder why anyone bothers to go to Labrador for "trophy" brook trout.
