I,e been going to ak for years use to live in Fairbanks. I never had much luck catching reds late in July and August. I was always told that they run heavy earlier and start to die down in early August. As far as hope goes I fish there all the time and the average Female may weight 3 to 5 # I have caught "lots" of males over seven # and the record I'm told for that area was around 11#
