[ Return to Contents | Post a Reply | Post a new message ] correction to mookie Posted by tcman on Jan 26 2006 I live on the Kenai River and at the end of July the red salmon run is still very strong. In fact, most years you can catch fresh reds well into August. The silver salmon run, on the other hand, traditionally peaks the middle of August and again in the middle of September. Depending upon the commercial netting silver salmon can be caught in the lower Kenai at the end of July. I can't vouch for the size of the pink run in Hope because I've never fished there, but ADF&G states that pink salmon average 3.5 to 4lbs and the state record is 8lbs even.
