Whittier Shrimp
Posted by jrogers on Jan 26 2006
I too have lost pots out of Whittier, but I know where they are (or at least where they were before the winter storms), I just can't get to them since they slide off into water deeper than I had rope for. Search past posts for 'shrimp' and you will get some pretty good info from this site. You can get shrimp within site of Whittier in 100-300 feet of water. I started out without a pot puller and then bought one after a month. I will be much more careful about how deep I set in next summer, and set my pots where I can keep a close eye on them. The taste of the shimp is so much better than store caught, but I have not heard anyone say they are saving money going this route.

Good luck, it is a fun diversion to just fishing!

Jim
