If I were to use a 5 wt, it would be a fast or ultra fast rod.  The Sage TCR  or the XP come to mind.  I pretty much just use my 8wt TCR on the Kenai.  I have hooked many fish on the upper that put it to a good test.  I do have a 6wt Loop green line that is ok on the upper, not real good for the health of a large bow or dolly though.
