Most of the silvers we caught were in the 12-18 pound range. Nice fighting fish! We prefer to use bait-casting reels, but spinning reels are fine too. Dipsy-divers and flashers are necessary in order to get the line down abit and attract them at the same time. Average depth was 15 - 40 feet. Fish Central right there at the harbor has lots of tackle, plus herring for bait. You can also rent a boat from them and go out on your own for the silvers. For halibut, take a charter (expensive) but the halibut are good this year and its fun to do. Yes, they provide your rods, reels, bath and clean your fish too. We heard that silvers were now in at the City dock and should be at Allison Point soon. People use Pixies (green is good) and a rubber squid for them there.
