Dollyland...

If you ever make it to Kodiak you will find the highway rivers and streams are chocked full of them.
Best bet: American River
During my research I parked my car, walked 9 steps to the river's edge, and developed the touch to limit out (10) in just under 50 minutes. Mind you, I ate what I caught or smoked most of it to give away in the First Native tradition of presenting gifts to the new friends I met. Later on I played catch-and-release. On shore landings the dolly is the flippiest and flopiest fish I've ever laid my hands on in all of AK.
Great fish but poohed by some locals who are deservedly spoiled. Dollies hold up best if cut fillets are immediated held in cold salt water.
Trophy dollies can be caught roadside if you hike upstream from the bridges where they lay pretty much unmolested.
Shefish?
