This past week the Russian river was slow.  Not a lot of fish as of Thursday. Spoke with a Fish Counter and he said the fish are late. Still some first run reds being caught, but there getting ugly. The majority of Reds were mid river at Bings or Dots, and the fishing was hot.  I fished the Kasilof a week ago and landed a small chrome bright hen weighing 22 lbs.  Fish have been averaging 40 - 50 lbs, but there are only a few.  I would give the Kasilof a thumbs down. The poor fishing I experienced may have been attributed to the commercial nets.
