Halibut Fishing
Posted by Steelieguy on Jul 31 2005
I would go out of Ninilchik / Deep Creek.  Contact Chihuly charters at 907-567-3374 and ask for the boat Glacier Bear. The charter boats are launched off the beach.  Your to the fishing grounds in less than an hour.  Fished last Sunday and landed limits of halibut in the 30 - 50 lb range in last than an hour.  My girlfriend and I also caught limits of Silvers as a bonus. If you want large halibut go to Homer, but be prepared for a 3 hour trip out and in bad weather can make for a long day.
