When Reds attack...
Posted by covert80 on Jul 28 2005
I have seen 1 or 2 fresh reds bite. Most of my fishing for reds has been on the Kenai or Russian though. Old reds (i.e. when fishing for silvers in the fall) I have seen get VERY aggressive. I have had a very old and mossy buck red bite my the leg of my wader as it "floated" by. The long teeth in the kype went through my waders and now they leak because I am too busy/lazy to fix them. They do regularly bite when they are spawning, but it is out of aggression and they are not keepable then.
