Went down to the Russian yesterday.  I always hike upstream, so I can't say what it's like down by the sanctuary, but I found success up high.  I only saw 4 fish during my 30 minute hike, but about 200 yards below the no-fishing line where the river widens a bit I found decent numbers.  I caught two fairly quickly before a series of short-lived hook-ups.  I was eager to get my last two in the bag, as there were a few really nice rainbows sharing the hole.  Alas, it was not to be.  While climbing out of the water I slipped on some rocks.  A large gash in my hand down to the muscle and five stitches later, I'm gazing out the window wishing I were back on the river.  Oh well, at least I should be ready for the 2nd run.  Go catch them for me!

(And if, by any chance, the guy who bandaged and duct taped my hand is on here, thank you very much!)
