Polarized lenses
Posted by Boss Gobbler on Jun 28 2005
Polarized glasses will reduce the light reaching the eye by 50%.  The color of the tint further reduces the light transmission.  The color of the tint determines the colors that reach the eye.  A grey tint (or dark grey in your case) evenly blocks the color spectrum, while a yellow or blue tint selectively blocks colors thus enhancing contrast for the user.  In general, grey works well over the broadest range of conditions.  A lighter blue or yellow can be better for lower light conditons.

Hope this helps
good fishin
