I've only ever fished Alaska streams in an odd year (last year) and there were plenty of pinks in places like Willow Creek and Bird Creek.  How much different will it be in a year like this year -- will they actually be rare or hard to find?

I ask partly because I'm thinking to run down to Bird Creek on June 30 to see if any are in yet.  If anyone can say from past experience what I'm likely to find there so early on an odd year, that would be very helpful :)
