quartz creek
Posted by Nathan4300 on Apr 30 2005
My family and I fish this creek every year. We noticed that the later the season gets the better fishing gets. It gets like this because the salmon swim up it to spawning ground. The dolly's and rainbows swim up behind them to eat the eggs. So if you come in august it would be a great time to fish them. You should try using single hooked lures that look like eggs because the creek is a single hook, artificial lures only. I have never been there in may so i dont know how good the fishing would be if any. You could always try fishing in kenai lake. There is excellant fishing there. You can caught lake trout, dolly's, rainbow trout, and we have even caught whitefish and salmon(later in the season while we were trolling for lake trout). Nathan
