Flasher Style
Posted by Sockeye Charlie on Apr 28 2005
For instant readings you can't beat the flasher style depth finders. I use a Vexilar FL-8 portable unit that I bought for Ice Fishing, I have a bracket on my boat that it mounts to and also was able to get a high speed transducer for the boat that mounted externally on the transom. Vexilar has many accessories available for different situations. It works very well while running the Kenai, even when up on step. The Kenai is not as silty as many of the other navigable rivers in this area, so that may be a consideration.

But I love mine!
