There are many options opening up in may. It is a bit early yet. I don't know how much time you will have or your interest in which part of the state. I purchased a book called the alaska highway firsherman. for $20 it gives you a rough idea of what kind of fish is in which streams and how to catch them.

I personally love going south. You can go out of Seward and try your hand at a charter fishing for King Salmon and or halibut. Lowell point has Dolly Varden right off the beach. The lakes will be ice free by then and good for some trout fishing.

Then again you can go down to deep creek or that area and get into the same thing.

Most rainbow fishing up north might just start picking up. there are Grayling in most of the streams.

Tight lines
