I've considered this service but never tried them.  The link will give you a good idea at least of what was going on last year in the area you're talking about north of Anchorage.  http://www.fish4salmon.com/reports/2004/m-s2004.asp
If you're open to taking a detour between Seward and Anchorage, you might consider a saltwater charter out of either Deep Creek or Homer.  Many of those boats are doing halibut/king salmon combos that time of year, and some in Homer may still do just kings.  Bonus in Homer is a limit of 2 kings daily, with 1 everywhere else.  
There's always Ship Creek in Anchorage, too, if you don't mind battling the crowds in the mud.  Best of luck!
